Party Crashing

This weekend Hazel and I went to a rooftop party, crashed the Manic Panic 30 year anniversary party, and crashed the NYC Live Earth party at the Maritime Hotel. The rooftop party was fun, Manic Panic had free products and the Live Earth had an open bar. No rum, though.

Shucks.

I've been hanging out with my buddy Sheridan's group of friends - a motley mix of Jewish and Asian. We floated into the latter two parties because Hazel was "Cynthia Wong" that night. At Manic Panic, I met this sweet looking girl who turned around and had this gi-normous tatoo on her back. Surprising - she looked like the (Chinese) girl next door.

Sheridan's out and about more than me. A few weeks earlier we went to R Bar where I, of course, ended up talking to 22 year olds. Somehow we slipped in a limo going to Azza. There another very sweet looking girl walked up to me, introduced herself, and asked me if I had cocaine. (?!)

I said no but we hung out until it was time to go home. Of course, she was 22 too.

I didn't exchange info with tatoo girl, cocaine girl or any woman in the past three weeks. My social card is full and I'm swamped with work. Plus, something tells me that Ms. Right isn't going to open with, "Hi cutie - have any coke?"

My social life is entertaining, scratch is coming in and, most importantly, I'm getting sleep.

Can't tell you what all that is doing for my mood.

Oh yeah, I've burned some more boats. I'm excited again.

And your name is...?

Coolest 72nd to Canal thing ever: My brother got a mass email from a friend saying they should all watch this video. He clicks it and BAM, it's an email from someone that read Caffineguy's gold star pimping of our show.

How's that for some right fine wickedness? Let's keep it up.

Onto our regularly scheduled entry.

-------------------

I was out and about again tonight.

This whole week, I've only been home one night.

A blitz of introductions and...introductions. I've been busy doing three things:
  1. things I'm proud of,
  2. things I'm not so proud of,
  3. and a thing or two that I shouldn't be proud of (but secretly am).
Plus, in my relentless pursuit of scratch, I'm shockingly busy for someone that prides himself on not working more than three days a week. Ergo, I've not had time to cerebrate about anything.

And in the middle of it all, I met the nicest chick.

But I'm in basketcase mode and my possible pasts keep interfering with my future.

Pardon me. I'm still rough-hewing. I'm still looking for her.

But until I find her (and I'm not gonna lie to you),

I'm ridiculously entertained.

72nd to Canal Episode 1 - Part 3 / Like what?

Thanks to everyone for watching 72nd to Canal and spreading the word. We really appreciate it!

I met three women tonight at a party I went to with Hazel. One is a story for much later, if at all. The other two:

Brooklyngirl
Her: She your girlfriend?
Me: No dear, I love someone who doesn't love me.
Her: Whoa, that's a lot of...(hic).
Me: Excuse me?
Her: Sorry, I have the hiccups.

So, because I was pretty sotted, I put my rum down, turned and kissed her.

Her: (surpised) Why'd you do that?
Me: Are the hiccups gone?
Her: (pause, laughing) Yes.
Me: Well then, you can buy me another rum then.

Dancergirl
Me: So you're from New Jersey? Are you a vegetarian?
Her: I've NEVER been asked that before. No, but would it matter?
Me: (shrugging) Not even close.
Her: So what's your story?
Me: I'm a pretty, straight boy in NYC looking to drink until I forget things. You?
Her: (thinking) I'm a pretty, straight girl in NYC looking to drink. Buy me one?
Me: No. I'm not that guy. But I'm good for other things.
Her: Like what?

Blah, blah, blah.

Just some interesting stories because if I REALLY had something interesting to do at 3:22 AM, would I be writing this?

I'm a sap, you see...
