9 to 6 or 6 to 9 / 25 or 6 to 4

I'm on the wrong side of 6AM when I stick my key in my door and turn to unlock it. I'm wondering what happened this weekend.

Half-an-hour earlier, I'm walking alone in the snow to the West Side Highway to catch a cab home.

An hour earlier, I'm in Guest House with Gio and Paul both gaming the same hottie. Drama. I'm too old for drama. As usual Gio floated us in and gets us a table with a bottle of vodka. Not my poison but it's comped so I take it. I chat up a group of lovely Irish actresses and girl from Kentucky that's a great dancer.

Two hours earlier, I'm in Sway being told by a girlie from Holland that I should meet her again in the hidden club at the Village. Nah.

Four hours earlier, I'm with "Clara" celebrating her birthday at Sugar. I tell her to text all my friends: Logan's all up in my grill - where are you guys? thinking they'll come save her. Nope.

Six hours earlier, I run into an old ghost from my club days. I tell him I'm a Christian and don't run hustle or sweatboxes any more. I don't think he believed me. He woulda never have believed I got grifted.

Seven hours earlier, I'm speaking crappy German and Chinese to Benlbr at The Back Room where John McEnroe slipped past me. Ben and I are on our own tight schedules but it's good to meet up.

Eight hours earlier, I'm stepping into Bar 151 with Paul to see Kung, the Grey-Eyed Girl and Randi. Two girls smile at me but I demur to saying hello. I'm on a schedule.

I'm on the wrong side of 9PM when I stick my key in my door and turn to lock it. I'm wondering what'll happen this weekend.

Clara is pretty :P Remind me to ask you which clubs to hit when I'm in NY next...the only club I went was crobar which was packed and not very fun.

That she is, that she is. She beat out a ton of other pretty ladies for that role - I'm surprised so many people showed up.

Funny.

Yes, drop me a line the next time you're about in my part of the world.

Thanks so much, I appreciate that a lot. I'm using this blog to hone my skills for public consumption and it's good to get feedback as to what people like and don't like.

I've got a bunch of things written but nothing published that's literary - what I do have published is dry news articles.

Someday, yeah?

Violence has no place here.

I don't have anything good enough to forward out! My manuscript needs to be tightened a lot, which was what I was doing when I went through the breakup. It seems like I'll never have time to finish it up.

Let's shirk the physical violence and just have an epic self-effacement battle.

your life is way too busy for me to read.
makes me have this jaded impression of new york being THAT busy and THAT fun.
although, it might be true considering that all my friends in new york are always THAT busy and having TOO MUCH fun.

I keep all my fun times for one day a week. It's too much at once any other way, I think.

dude...my energy level was on the opposite side of the spectrum (compared to yours!) upon your arrival. when i finally get regular saturdays off, when i actually get a chance to sleep in (as opposed to party planning), we'll def have to knock a few back!

holla!

No worries, we were both on a tight schedule - it was a social obligation for both of us but that's not a bad thing, per se.

Yes, we will have to have a drink or six the next time you're in town.

Just reading this makes me tired. ;) My weekend was full of thesis brainstorming and laundry and Guitar Hero. Thrilling.

...don't run hustle or sweatboxes any more. What's that mean?

Hmmm - running hustle is a non-traditional way of money-making. It's a bit hard to define.

A sweatbox is an underground, mobile club. Basically, when you rent out a restaurant, invite 4,000 of your closest friends and charge $20 at the door. He and I ran sweatboxes together over a decade ago.

Ach soooooooo wenig Spaß hast du gar nicht. Du hast nur immer ganz viel Spaß auf ein Mal und dann wieder eine längere Pause bis zum nächsten großen Spaß. ;-)

10 Rum and diet cokes - the rum makes me happy and the diet coke gives me caffeine.

A lovely thing.
