Lost heart in the big city...
3:44:48 AM

My insomnia is maddening but this means I can tell you a quick story (one of two for this night):

I was walking home late tonight and pulled my jacket around me because I was cold. A young woman smiled as she brushed past me and I smiled back. She tripped and fell down, embarrassed, and her heart fell out from her jacket.

I saw it fall so I leaned over and picked it up and called out to her but the wind drowned me out. She had already crossed the street. After the light changed, I ran after her but she disappeared.

So I stood there in middle of 14th Street and 3rd Avenue holding onto something that didn't belong to me. I decided to put it in my pocket in case I ran into someone missing a heart in the big city.

As always, I took the long walk home. For some reason, I wasn't as cold.

i have issues with this. there's too much sentimentality. too easy. i demand more drama|more ennui|more desire and inability to satiate one's everyday quota for happiness.

Some people - you just can't please 'em all...

I actually just wrote it the way it happened - I wish there was more drama, ennui, and desire but I just couldn't make it across the street. Sorry.

I will next time.

Promise.

Aww how sweet. You still can't sleep??! I thought you were finally getting sleep a few nights back. What happened? Well, at least you'd be up to party when I come up to visit in a couple of weeks.

Well, I sleep in on/off cycles of one week of good sleep/2-3 weeks bad sleep. It's terrible. Rain just called me and said that he found $375 tickets round-trip to Hawaii so we might be out of the city at that time. When are you coming again?

BTW, be prepared to eat fatty foods:

Oh really? Aww man. I'll be there Nov. 30th-Dec. 3rd. Are you guys going to Hawaii? That is AWESOME!

So....about that offer you made while you were an insomniac...does that mean your place is up for rental for the weekend? :p

Man, that's a short weekend.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), we couldn't score a place to crash during that time in Hawaii so we'll all be about in our fine, fine, city.

According to 'The Alchemist' this is an omen -- that was what my dad commented...

But omen to what? And how is the mysterious woman? or 'woman'...

"Is she a woman or ??? What you think?"

*mysterious*
