Well, I've had an unpleasant evening. Don't ask. I'm still not sleeping either. Maybe it'll get better but in the meanwhile, I thought about my recent past.

I took this bag with me all over the world for two years. I had it custom made back when I had some coin.

I wanna see the sun in Santa Monica again, or the sun on Five Finger Mountain in Xinzhu again, or the sun on the Baltic Sea in Denmark again, or the...oh you get the point.

I hated traveling around the world when I had to, now I miss it so. It is always greener there, isn't it?

No worries, I'm still hopeful. Just not here.

Too much baggage.

I used to teach and do sales and marketing internationally for a large dot com. It was interesting work but I gained weight from all the travel, couldn't have a real relationship, paid way too much rent for an apartment in Manhattan that I was never in and missed my family and friends too much.

Now I wish I was back at the job, rich and traveling again rather than being the impoverished writer I am now in my apartment in the city.

Ah, I'm always bitching about one thing or another.

I'll stop.

I've always wanted to travel a bit for work. Not constantly, but to regularly go to different countries and experience new things.

If you don't mind me asking, what the hell does your apartment in Manhattan run, anyway? I've heard they're ridiculous, but then again so are a lot of the places around here.

It would go for $4300 a month split between three people (it's a huge three-bedroom) but there are special situations involved so we get it for a little less.

BTW, if you wanna know rents in my area, go to newyork.craigslist.com and type in "UWS" for the upper west side under apts/housing.
